Northern Dialogues:
Remoteness and Sustainable Livelihoods in Rural and Northern Canada

Northern Dialogues a series of outreach activities that took place in 2024. The activities included a variety of events and publications designed to facilitation knowledge mobilization and transfer between academics, practitioners, policymakers, and community members invested rural and northern issues.

Project Overview

These outreach activities generated dialogue on the theory and lived reality of remoteness and its implications for sustainable livelihoods in rural, northern, and Indigenous communities. The dialogue was intended to inform policy and development practice in and for communities through the exchange of insights from researchers, policy makers, practitioners, leaders, and community members.
